Keys are stored in specialist key storage cabinets, with a unique numbered hook location for each key to ensure keys are safely stored and easy to locate.

Postage
We are able to ensure that all key requests received before 3pm are posted out the same day via Royal Mail guaranteed next working day, signed for post.
Physical Access
24 hour key collections are available by appointment, although for safety reasons we limit physical access and the storage facility is manned Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. Outside of these hours however collections can be arranged by calling a dedicated out of hours phone number.
Stock Recording
All keys are digitally logged on The Car Key People’s internal cloud based system. A record of each key held in stock is logged against the VRM and allocated a unique internal reference number, which simplifies locating and identifying required keys.
We receive daily deliveries of keys, which are stored and logged within 24 hours to ensure the inventory is real-time and always up to date.

Middle Storage and Key Return
Does your fleet store spare keys centrally?
We work with several large fleets that store and manage their spare keys centrally. We have established procedures with these fleets to ensure our technicians can quickly gain access to their spare keys, which has several benefits. Attending with a spare key simplifies the booking and reduces the risk of complications, and in some cases mitigates the requirement for factory ordered keys.
On completing a booking our technicians return spare keys to our storage facility, where they will be centrally logged and returned weekly by secure post to participating clients.
