How do The Car Key People open cars?
People often ask us how we get into their car and if there will be any damage. The answer is simple – “We open cars without causing any damage or signs of forced entry”. We never smash windows or use forced entry techniques, you can do this yourself and would not expect to pay a locksmith using such unskilled techniques. Our auto locksmiths are skilled professionals that understand the working of vehicle locks. We use specialist lock picks and tools to gain entry without causing a scratch. Some cars can be opened in a matter of seconds whilst others may take a bit more work. If we use a lock pick to open the door this is a skilled way of bypassing the lock. Lock picking essentially adjusts the inner wafers of the lock to the same position as an inserted key. When the wafers are in the correct positions we can use a tension tool to open the lock.
Lock picks are used on newer cars that deadlock. Deadlocking means the cars doors can not be opened when pulling the inside handle. This is an added security feature and was first used by the likes of BMW and Mercedes. Most cars that are produced in the last few years will become deadlocked, but not all manufactures have incorporated this yet.
If a car is not deadlocked we can use a small air wedge to create a slim gap at the top of the car door. This provides sufficient space to insert a rod and pull the handle from the inside.
We have several highly skilled techniques of opening locked vehicles and each car make will require a unique method. For some cars we can read the lock and cut a key blade to unlock the door, all in a matter of minutes. What could be simpler?
